Adelaide authors & Paroxysm @ NYWF
- Paroxysm authors @ Adelaide launch.
- Shotgun appearance at National Young Writers’ Festival, Newcastle.
1. Paroxysm authors @ Adelaide launch.
Don’t forget people – the Adelaide Shotgun launch is fast approaching. Remember – just like Melbourne we’ll be ‘Shotgunning‘ everyone through, fast-and-furious (even by our standards). There’ll be a ton of people firing off readings/performances so we can’t afford to start late. Be ON TIME or miss what will be one of the slickest, fastest Paroxysm gigs to date.
To re-cap the details:
Tues 24th October 06 : @ Hard Boiled : Higher Ground Inc, Hindley St, 6-8pm (Readings are between 6:30 and 7:30). Open mic included.
More announcements on who you’ll see there soon but the first four I’ll mention are the authors who made the trip from Adelaide to Melbourne and who’ll be up for their SECOND Shotgun launch – this time in their own hometown:
Kami (Paroxysm, Looking For Japanese Porn, S.F.&T*, Bunk Beds & Chilli Vodka, Waste & Shotgun). The most published author on Paroxysm Press to date; resident dirty old man and lucky enough to have a national magazine paying him to drink at the pub.
Kerryn Tredrea (Looking For Japanese Porn, Fingers & Tongues, Adventures in Captivity & Shotgun). The single most prolific tourer in the Paroxysm ’stable’, gigs so much in Melbourne they’re starting to think she’s one of theirs!
Miss Jessi (Fingers & Tongues, Radio Demo & Shotgun). Once a ‘new kid‘ on the circuit – now one of the core Paroxysm writers and tourers and Paroxysm Press assistant/technical editor.
Matthew Smith (Shotgun). A new face to many, but already touring hard and organising his own regular gig (Hard Boiled). Keep an eye here for details on his own book launch; coming soon.
2. Shotgun appearance at National Young Writers’ Festival, Newcastle.
Paroxysm Press publisher Daniel Watson will be making an appearance at this years’ National Young Writers’ Festival in Newcastle (scene of Kami’s infamous novella Bunk Beds & Chilli Vodka) during the long weekend of Friday Sept 29th to Monday Oct 2nd.
Check out the program for details BUT as well as a panel appearance on short fiction there will be the exceptional Zine/Book fair where all Paroxysm Press products will be available INCLUDING the first New South Wales appearance of Shotgun, ahead of its November Sydney launch.
