Shotgunning Sydney
Thursday, November 23rd, 2006This weekend (Sat 25 – Sun 26) Shotgun and all other Paroxysm products will be on sale at the Eighth Australian Publishers & Authors Bookshow in Sydney. It takes place at Leichhardt Town Hall (corner of Marion and Norton Streets). Entry to the festival and launches is free but there is a charge for the talks program. Each day kicks off at 9am so come down and see us – maybe have a beer, maybe buy a book.
For those of you who want a spoken word injection we’ll be doing a short launch at 4pm on the dot on the Saturday 25 Nov. on the Town Hall stage. Featuring Kami, Matthew Smith, Kristen T. and Daniel Watson.
This festival is new to us so head down to give some support. We’re especially looking forward to meeting the Sydney authors.
Congratulations to Kerryn Tredrea. Her poem ‘running with knives on a slippery surface’ was just published in the Best Australian Poems 2006 from Black Inc, edited by Dorothy Porter. Her Paroxysm Press anthology, ‘Adventures in Captivity’ is nearly sold out so get in quick or you’ll have to wait for the reprint.
For those of you in Adelaide the short-form-poetic gem from Sherwin Tjia, ‘The World is a Heartbreaker’ is now available in Dymocks Rundle Mall. Much of his material for Shotgun came from this legendary book – I cannot recommend it enough.
