1. Kami performs sober @ Wordfire (no – really)
The May Wordfire was off so everyone could rest up post Fringe but it returns this Monday the 4th of June at the Crown and Sceptre, Adelaide featuring non other than our own Kami (plus numerous other guests). And yes – you read it correctly – he plans to take the stage sober! That alone makes this a historical event.

2. New national poetry slam
Tons more news to come on this one soon but a new individual poetry slam will be contested nationally. First state heats, state finals and then the national final. Generally organised through the state libraries each state will have one poet organiser and one library based organiser. The SA poet will be none other than Paroxysm publisher Daniel Watson. Also very happy to announce the WA poet will be the renowned troublemaker Allan Boyd (much applause and chanting of Boydy – Boydy etc)

3. Croak & Grist draws ever closer
And damn is it good. The cover was enough to require a change of pants and the content is even better. Anyone who has read the stories from Shane Jesse Christamass and Hop Dac in Waste and Shotgun simply cannot afford to miss this one. It’s looking likely to be launched around the July/Aug period in both Melbourne and Adelaide plus look out for a possible National Young Writers’ Festival, Newcastle appearance.
