Grist, Blood & Slam

Croak & Grist – a collection of short stories from Shane Jesse Christmass and Hop Dac is edging ever closer, with most of the internal layout work now done despite the flat out schedule Paroxysm Press is currently on.

But while you are waiting Melbourne people get along to the launch a brand new anthology “Blood” from new kids on the publishing block : Sunday Drivers Press. It’s being launched as part of the Melbourne Writers’ Festival, Sunday Aug 26th, 3:45 – 4:45pm, The Bagging Room, Malthouse Theatre, 113 Sturt St, Southbank. Its slew of talented authors includes a number of Paroxysm regulars – Kami, Hop Dac, Martin Downey & Paroxysm Press publisher Daniel Watson – plus also a few names you’d recognise from Shotgun – Kate Harris, Leah Gardiner and Joshua Jennings. From everything I here this is one not to be missed so get your arses down there then come out for a beer with us afterwards!

And lastly Paroxysm People if you haven’t made it to an SA slam in the national comp. yet then give us your best shot for Unley, this Friday 17th of August at the Unley Town Hall from 6:30pm. ABC Statewide will be in attendance and we’re looking to put on a solid showing. With three heats done six SA poets / spoken word artists have made it through to the finals including Paroxysm Press core-authors Kerryn Tredrea and Kami.
