Stewart Home Comes In Your Face + Dolphins PunkRockDrunk Live
A collection of genuine UK punk-rock from the master of shock, Stewart Home. Some of the lyrics to the first half of the album appeared in Home’s first novel Pure Mania, disguised as the work of the ‘almost fictional’ band Alienation – but here they appear as they were originally written and performed, between 1979 and 1986. No decent quality tapes of the tunes survived that period, however, so these have been revisited by various members of the original band.
In addition to this, there are a bunch of tracks by The Dolphins, who toured Europe with Home in the mid-nineties, a spontaneous conversation on a radio phone-in, and a song about the Neoist Wonder Dog.
But wait – there’s more! You also receive a special recording of Colours 180 Degrees of Hell Live, from 1981. If nothing else, it shows that people who take a lot of acid and explore non-standard rhythms should probably never be let near any recording equipment. Let that be a lesson (and an indescribable listen, too!).
